Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5902200 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard. Responsibilities As a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (TITLE 5), GS-0344-7, you will monitor, collect, and audit maintenance data for reports and briefings. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Monitor, collect, and audit maintenance data reports. Collect and maintain maintenance performance data for use in analysis reports, studies, and problem identification. Monitor maintenance performance data systems for compliance with established procedures. Periodically audit maintenance source data for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with directives. Perform database management duties, assist MIS users in correct use and operation. Assemble and prepare data for analysis reports and briefings. Assemble information by extracting and tabulating maintenance data in logical presentation sequence, using automated and manual methods. Maintain data in tabular, chart, graphic, and summary form for availability forecast development, work center personnel and man-hour forecasts, workload and capability projections, and trend analysis products. Prepare visual media for analysis briefings. Procure written narratives in support of summaries, analysis reported and studies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Subject to provisions of DoD Priority Placement Program. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. If an Optional Form (OF) 306, Declaration of Employment is submitted prior to the point of a conditional offer, questions related to background information section may not be asked. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG. Drug testing may be required. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for this position. PCS expenses may be authorized. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training involving administrative or clerical experience (i.e., applying guidelines, rules and regulations to assignments, composing correspondence, researching and compiling information and data, and records administration); experience using computer and automation systems. involving basic data gathering methods (i.e., standard interviewing or surveying techniques to collect various types of factual information and performing under general instructions); reviewing and/or modifying forms to determine if they are essential, can be simplified, consolidated with existing forms, or standardized for wider use; experience working with internal controls pertaining to administrative functions; knowledge of the organization and its mission sufficient to collect, organize and interpret information to include statistical material; experience working with regulations and administrative procedures involved in assessing and assuring compliance. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience, education, or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level: experience evaluating and determining regulatory compliance: experience using guidelines, methods, precedents, and techniques applicable to the specific programs or phases relative to the position: experience conducting studies, preparing reports, and making changes to eliminate ineffective operations.
