JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Schuylkill is accepting applications for a Part-Time Penn State Schuylkill LionLaunch Coordinator. LionLaunch, powered by Penn State, is a part of Invent Penn State (IPS) and supports innovative and entrepreneurial skills of students, faculty, staff, and the community, primarily in Schuylkill County.

Anticipate 22 hours per week.

Job Duties

The primary role of this opening is to run and manage LionLaunch by:

  • Coordinating workshops and training programs for entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses based on community needs through outreach and partnerships with local workforce development groups

  • Planning and implementing a range of programs and events within the LaunchBox portfolio based on community needs. These can include but are not limited to, Idea DesignLab, Idea TestLab, Social Impact Accelerator, workshops, and events.

  • Supporting Penn State Schuylkill student entrepreneurs

  • Cultivating financial support for LionLaunch initiatives through management of grant funding and endowments

  • Increasing visibility of LionLaunch and its programs on campus and within the community

  • Engaging across the Invent Penn State Network on statewide initiatives

  • Managing data tracking and annual reporting including activities and budgeting

This will be accomplished through community facing business and education programs and collaborative projects between Schuylkill LaunchBox, Downtown Shenandoah, Inc., local chambers of commerce and workforce and economic development organizations. These collaborations may lead to potential internships and employment opportunities for students, successful business starts, as well as potential corporate training opportunities for business partners.
