Responsibilities Knowledge of commonly used rules, procedures, and operations pertaining to the basic safety and security of the assigned area and the people, facility, and equipment within the area of responsibility Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear, and surfaces are maintained according to safety requirements. As a driver exerts physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Work assignments require walking on a variety of surfaces, climbing, kneeling, stooping, pulling, pushing, standing, twisting, and sitting. Duties require the use of trade practices associated with landscaping and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations. Incumbent performs a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and minor repairs of buildings and associated equipment. Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers / garden tractors (from 18HP to 31 HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weed-eaters, pruners, etc. Monitors access to the facility and grounds to ensure security is maintained Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. 2. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools. 3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. 4.
