Sourcing Interns are part of the pipeline for the GE Vernova Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) with potential assignments in our Gas Power, Wind, Nuclear, Steam Power, and Grid Solutions businesses.

What you'll do

  • Receive training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class manufacturing/supply chain operations and experienced managers.

  • Grow your expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.

  • Interns will experience challenging assignments in the Renewable Energy Onshore Wind industry.

  • Work on a variety of high priority teams, potentially including supply chain, fulfillment, performance, quality, cost-out, and more

Sourcing Assignments Include:

  • Achieve lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs.

  • You may solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations.

  • Additional projects may involve implementing purchase contracts following applicable company and government regulations and evaluating current and anticipated requirements

  • Supply chain system utilization to provide optimization opportunities and supplier recovery plans.

  • Responsible for collaborating and coordinating with suppliers of wind turbine components for fulfilment to the manufacturing facility.

What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time ABET accredited undergraduate or graduate program in one of these engineering disciplines: Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 overall cumulative GPA (without rounding).

Other Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business

  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services

  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
