Job Description Summary

The NAM EHS Portfolio Leader will lead and be responsible for a team of EHS professionals of both portfolio and site-based team members. Together you will support and work with cross functional leadership, customers and other third parties as necessary to provide technical EHS support and oversight on all GE, regulatory and industry requirements. Your leadership will be critical to ensure the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives as well as the successful implementation and execution of all EHS expectations for the distributed operations (projects and/or services) across the region.

This role requires solid knowledge and experience of regulations applicable to field project and service operations and familiarity with both general industry and construction U.S. safety regulations as outlined in 29 CFR 1910 and 1926. A comprehensive background managing high risk activities in similar work environments is also a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, mentor and guide on a day-to-day basis a team of EHS professionals across NAM region.

  • Provide the necessary direction and training to build business EHS capabilities and knowledge within EHS personnel.

  • Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs, legislation and standards for distributed (projects and services) operations across the region.

  • Partner and develop positive working relationships with customers, external agencies and contractors as well as internal cross-functional personnel. Focal point of contact and interactions with all for the respective portfolio being served.

  • Support ITO/OTR and handover or response to customer queries for projects across NAM.

  • Work closely with the auditing team to ensure appropriate governance in in place to monitor performance in all areas of operation. In addition, occasionally participate in business EHS governance audits and help with corrective action implementation.

  • Share best practices across regions and areas of operation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum of 10 years of significant EHS and operational experience in a professional EHS role overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment, leading a team of EHS resources

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-70% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated achievements with safety programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Deep domain expertise in multiple High-Risk Operations example; Electrical Safety/LOTO, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and drive change and interact cross-functionally

  • Able to coach and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance and the reduction of risk through team engagement and help develop an organizational culture that prioritizes EHS

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language.

  • Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and or presentations to a diverse audience

  • Ability to influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal

  • Trained to Global Wind Organization (GWO) standard

The base pay range for this position is $113,000 - $188,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation of 15%. This posting is expected to close no earlier than September 20, 2024.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
