Description

As a Coordinator of Short-term Services, you will be the face of Parsons at Schenectady Department of Children and Families and will collaborate with this department, while supervising Family Support Workers to reach positive outcomes for referred families. The Parsons Short-term Services Program is an intensive case-management service designed to rapidly resolve the concrete and referral needs of families entering the Child Welfare System. By resolving these issues within 90 days of admission, families are at a reduced risk for continued involvement in the child welfare system. You will report to the Senior Director of Prevention Services and you will work in a hybrid model with community-based travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program staff and provide ongoing training and support.

  • Coordinate policy and program development with other Northern Rivers Prevention Program supervisors and director.

  • Collect and maintain program data, on a monthly and annual basis.

  • Participate in program and agency committees.

  • Carry direct practice cases, as indicated.

  • Provide service consultation to community agencies

  • Complete monthly billing, monthly report and annual reports.

  • Provide administrative and supportive supervision of four staff, while promoting program philosophy.

  • Assist staff in meeting contractual requirements regarding client contact, timeliness of case work activity, service plan development, and progress note completion.

  • Participate in the interviewing, selection and training of new staff.

    Requirements and Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, with four years of experience in social services or equivalent experience required.

  • Ability to work some early evening hours.

  • Must have a valid NYS driver's license and a reliable and safe vehicle.
