The Production Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for all the purchasing, planning and acquisition activities related to their assigned commodities. The Production Scheduling Coordinator must assist in strategies for their assigned commodities and anticipate opportunities and threats in relation to the market place and current or future economic conditions. The Production Scheduling Coordinator will play a key role as an active participant with inventory planning to improve inventory levels and will be responsible for expanding the purchasing sphere of influence into all departments that affect the purchasing function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate production schedule from the information provided by the computer system with assistance from the Product Manager. Process appropriate Purchase Order and distribute to all key stakeholders.
  • Generate and validate accurate purchase orders (pricing/quantities/delivery) to suppliers to ensure appropriate inventory levels are attained and managed.
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively across all internal departments, such as Operations, Accounting, Sales, Manufacturing and Customer Service to meet customer expectations and improve inventory levels.

{=html} <!-- --> - Establish sharp communication with internal and external partners on supplier production delays or order shortages, while pursuing recovery options with urgency. - Prepare purchase orders through a computerized system and place orders for the purchase of goods and services. - Obtain appropriate commodities in a timely manner and expedite material as needed. - Manage supplier performance in accordance with purchase order terms through delivery, acceptance, payment and closeout. - Cooperate and communicate with internal and external customers and the Management Team to ensure accurate materials are procured per specifications. - Resolve receiving discrepancies, invoice discrepancies, and supplier payment issues. - Create and send receiving worksheets in timely manner. - Receive all assigned shipments in transit. - Organize, update, and retain product information files and purchase order records. - Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures. - Track and document cost increases for accurate margin analysis and ensure timely payment of invoices. - Attend pre-planning meetings as requested. - Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent background

{=html} <!-- --> - Minimum 1-2 years of experience in production scheduling or purchasing preferably in distribution. - Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Windows - Knowledge in JD Edwards is a plus. - Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers, sales, field partners and other business contacts via telephone, email, and video conferencing. - Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, work with percentages, and have basic knowledge of algebra as well as make fine adjustments in equipment settings.
