Guthrie Perioperative Inventory Spec 1 - Corporate Purchasing - Full Time in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Job Summary: As a Perioperative Inventory Analyst - Level 1, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and optimization of inventory processes within the perioperative department of a healthcare facility. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure adequate supply levels, accurate documentation, and efficient utilization of resources. The Perioperative Inventory Analyst - Level 1 will work under the supervision of senior staff to support inventory control initiatives, data analysis, and reporting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Assist in the maintenance of accurate inventory records for perioperative supplies, including implants, instruments, and consumables.

  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and perioperative staff to ensure timely replenishment of supplies while minimizing excess stock and associated costs. Assist team leaders in maintaining their preference lists, executing trials; identifying acceptable substitutes for backordered or discontinued items and follow-up on product recalls.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in inventory management practices.

  • Documentation: Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and adjustments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

  • Inventory Audits: Participate in regular inventory audits to verify stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and identify potential issues requiring corrective action. Execute quarterly cycle counts with team leaders; reconcile discrepancies and educate and consult key users of all entities.

  • Vendor Management: Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of supplies. Collaborate with vendors to establish consignment inventories and managing stock levels, reconciling quarterly.

  • Process Improvement: Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in perioperative inventory management.

  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, usage rates, and other relevant metrics to inform decision-making and performance evaluation.

  • Training and Education: Provide training and support to perioperative staff on proper inventory management procedures, including use of inventory management systems and adherence to inventory control policies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Grade or Equivalent. .

  • Prior experience in inventory management, preferably in a healthcare or perioperative setting.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with inventory management software/systems is desirable.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to inventory management in healthcare settings.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities and environments.
