Position Purpose:

The Interior Installation Technician I works under close supervision to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors following company operating procedures and quality standards. This role focuses on ensuring that aircraft interior components such as galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and vanity ledge fill panels are installed correctly and safely, adhering to strict regulations and specifications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Aircraft Interior Installation and Fabrication:

  • Safely perform the removal, installation, and fabrication of aircraft interiors (including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and vanity ledge fill panels).

  • Work with supervision and inspection teams to ensure all tasks are in compliance with repair station procedures, internal protocols, FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality standards.

  • Complete specific fit and installation tasks as outlined in work order instructions, ensuring precision and adherence to technical specifications.

  • Material Tracking and Documentation:

  • Utilize the material tracking system to create part demands, track squawks, and sign off on associated paperwork.

  • Maintain accurate records for all installation and fabrication tasks, including any necessary adjustments or repairs made during the process.

  • Tool and Equipment Usage:

  • Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes.

  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and safety procedures are followed when using and storing shop tools and equipment.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety, 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and housekeeping policies.

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and take initiative to identify and address unsafe conditions to ensure the safety of personnel and property.

  • Additional Functions:

  • Aircraft Testing Support:

  • In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, participate in flight tests on aircraft as needed, ensuring compliance with required specifications.

  • Other Duties:

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support team goals and operational needs.

Other Requirements:

  • Language Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work any shift.

  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in small, confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as required during daily tasks.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Basic computer literacy is required, including the ability to use material tracking systems and digital documentation tools.

  • Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in application installation, fabrication, or a related trade field is preferred.

  • Trade school education or equivalent formal training in aircraft interior installation is a plus.

Pay Details: $23.32 per hour
