While the environment and upkeep of the park is crucial, our secret ingredient surrounds our Program Coordinator roles. We are currently in need of a Program Assistant who will oversee, monitor, and improve Siesta Beach programs. The ideal candidate is skilled in providing administrative oversight, management, and operation of recreational or nature-based programs, facilities, and events. Examples can include summer camps, specialty camps, and other facility needs. The pay starts out at $21.85/hour and benefits begin within 60 days of hire! About the Position
In this role, you will:
Plan, develop, implement, and promote recreational-based programs.
Assist with division-wide special events.
Promote and ensure Siesta Beach is both safe and clean by coordinating maintenance and contractual work.
Monitor, inspect, and ensure the safety of playground equipment and facilities.
Provide exceptional customer service, working with neighborhood, youth, and community groups.
Schedule and coordinate reservations, groups, instructors, contracts, and registrations utilizing reservation software.
Partner with volunteers to optimize recreational opportunities for the public.
Collect fees and charges for services rendered at Siesta Beach and Water Access Parks, assist with facility rentals and daily closeouts.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Siesta Beach operates Sunday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Assigned work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, emergencies, etc.
Hours and scheduled days to be determined based on division needs at the time of job posting. The predicted shift will be in the morning/first shift, but can vary, on occasion.
Must be flexible as nights, weekends, and holiday work may be required.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent education.
Three (3) years of experience in recreational programming or in related area.
Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recreational programming experience.
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification.
Experience with money handling and customer service.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Physical Demands: May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, with assistance.

Starting Pay Range: $21.85 - $24.00/h r
