Belcan is seeking an Advisor/Consultant - Maintenance, Machining, & Automotive Tooling to work for our customers throughout México. As a subcontracted advisor through Belcan, you will deploy to our customers and/or suppliers as needed to support projects related to automotive and assembly maintenance, machining, and tooling. Great matching candidates will have strong manufacturing and supply chain leadership and supervisory skills capable of driving measurable solutions and outcomes for clients. In this job, you will be on site at customers and/or customer suppliers working to assess, mitigate, consult, identify, and administer outcomes.
As critical project issues and needs for improvements or crisis intervention arise, this job will deploy to those customers. Great matching candidates will have strong manufacturing and supply chain experiences capable of both reporting and creating measurable solutions and outcomes for clients. This job requires the ability to develop and lead proactively through problem solving to demonstrate value creation.
Job Duties:
Deploy and travel to customer(s) and suppliers as needed. Work content can require extensive travel typically with standard return visits
Act as an advisor and consult customer through both individual and team contributions to assure critical customer needs are met and project is completed
Responsible for developing & implementing systems & procedures that increase operating equipment effectiveness (OEE), including rigorous PM, TPM and Lock Out/Tag Out processes
Develop & maintain systems to capture equipment performance & maintenance history
Provide experience and expertise in evaluating, analyzing, and providing solutions to complex tooling and crib issues
Perform supplier tooling audits, cost analytics and onsite reviews
Use data to prioritize and schedule work, make replacement decisions, monitor productivity
Implement capital expense projects designed to improve safety, efficiency or to satisfy compliance requirements
Direct & monitor activities of the maintenance & engineering teams
Ensure that facility is operating in compliance (equipment, methods, reporting and permits) with regulatory body and company requirements
Estimate Tooling Costs, track tooling and equipment, and troubleshoot processes issues to maintain production operations
Working knowledge of environmental & OSHA regulations and the ability to manage multiple projects
Communicate and interact with shop floor personnel, quality/process teams, customer management team, material teams, purchasing teams and other engineers involved in the process
Required Qualifications:
Ten plus years' experience as a seasoned specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) within manufacturing and supply chain as it relates to the automotive industry
Capable of operating onsite alone to professionally represent Belcan to support multiple parties" interests (Customer/Supplier)
Operate with speed and precision
Ability to travel as needed and deploy rapidly in short notice to begin work due to assessment, supply chain disruptions, and project improvement initiatives
Knowledge and experience with manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, machining, repair, etc
Experience with tool/fixture/mold design, maintenance, repair
CNC programming and operator experience using G and M codes
Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures, lock out tag out, as it relates
to manufacturing environment
Demonstrated capability to accurately assess deficiencies in manufacturing processes, and possesses the technical know-how to troubleshoot and solve complex manufacturability problems
Must have experience in both short and long-term improvement projects, with demonstrated capability to gain consensus and implement manufacturing process improvements
Proficient in their understanding and performance drivers of contracted KPIs
Experience with root cause analysis and lean methodologies to aid in both throughput, quality and capacity related issues
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of design for manufacturing concepts
Hands on experience in the shop/manufacturing environment
Understanding of Mechanics of Materials and Structural Design
Lean Six Sigma experience
Knowledge of CAD Modeling (2D, 3D)
Proficiency in MS Office products
Experience with Cost reduction
