The outpatient

Radiology Administrative Assistant handles reception, scheduling, image

library, and technologist assistant duties on a rotating basis. Reception

involves patient registration, collecting clinical and insurance information as

well as payment collections. Scheduling includes booking imaging appointments,

especially for Oncology, research and specialty patients. Additional tasks

involve managing image uploads, creating hardcopy or CDs and assisting with

patient preparation and safety for imaging procedures.

The Administrative

Assistant demonstrates maximum flexibility and multitasking capabilities while

working with all levels of staff as a team in our outpatient centers. You will

be required to rotate to all radiology sites staffed by UCLA Health.

After initial

training you will work as part of the administrative staff to ensure an

efficient experience for patients and stakeholders following standards set

forth by the University and the Department of Radiological Sciences.

Salary Range:

$29.42 - $42.14 Hourly

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years in a Radiology department utilizing HIS, RIS, iCAP, Microsoft Outlook, IDX and GE component experience - required

  • Medical terminology to a level permitting accurate preparation of scheduling patient procedures interacting with physicians, patients and staff

  • Skill in quickly assimilating and retaining a large body of financial screening and patient registration information

  • Working knowledge of hospital/billing forms and the ability to explain services and charges to patients and/or family
