Internship Program Overview:

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role:

Seeking an intern with business acumen to join the Mobile RF End Market team to support GF’s understanding of the market and assist with the daily management of the business. The candidate will create reports and analysis on GF’s Mobile RF business, using data to improve understanding of current market and business condition; beyond data analytics the candidate will be mentored on the Mobile RF industry, on RF and RFIC systems and RF Front End market trends.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining data analysis and reporting for selected key metrics, regular data sets and special initiatives for the Mobile RF Front End business

  • Read market reports, technical papers and product teardowns and create summaries to influence RF product decisions and document market requirements

  • Assist team in daily business processes, long range planning and end market commentary

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical engineer, Physical Science or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.

  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

  • Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong planning & organizational skills

  • Courses taken or experience with:

  • RF technologies: 5G/mmW, WiFi, IoT and automotive radar systems

  • CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS and/or RFSOI processes features and how they impact the RF systems

  • Semiconductor design and development

  • Semiconductor manufacturing and physics

  • Proficient with valuable data analysis and scripting tools - examples:

  • Power BI

  • Excel

  • JMP

  • Python

  • R
