** This role is based in our Santa Clara, CA headquarters with a hybrid working schedule of at least 3 days/week in office **

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is scaling its world-class Corporate Development & M&A team, and looking for its next key team member to help maintain our leadership in cybersecurity innovation. Our market-leading cybersecurity platforms are critical for the security operations at the largest organizations in the world, and the landscape is continually changing and in need of innovation leadership.

Your Impact

  • Work closely with our product, go-to-market, and strategy teams to develop a deep understanding of our products and technology, both current and roadmap, to assist in developing market landscapes and a robust pipeline of acquisition candidates

  • Identify cybersecurity trends and key capabilities, with a focus on cloud and AI, to ensure our M&A efforts are cutting-edge and address our customers’ current and future needs

  • Conduct primary research and meet with emerging technology companies to develop a perspective on new markets and technologies

  • Perform thoughtful and rigorous business and financial analysis on prospective acquisition candidates to inform strategic rationale, valuation, and integration approach strategy

  • Drive analysis and deliver recommendations in a data-driven manner, with clear communication and presentation skills

  • Synthesize and up-level insights and opportunities to the cross-functional team and senior management

  • Lead a fast-paced and thorough cross functional due diligence process, coordinating with key internal functional stakeholders (GTM, finance, legal, HR, etc.)

  • Plan ahead at all times to set up newly acquired businesses and your cross-functional teammates for success in post-acquisition integration activities, while constantly identifying potential process improvements

Your Experience

  • 4-6+ years of relevant work experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or top-tier tech corporate development teams (relevant experience in security, software, and hyperscalers preferred)

  • Strong familiarity of cybersecurity products and technologies and cloud architecture preferred

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities, and comfortable with both business and technical discussions with senior audiences

  • Experience in building relationships and leading through influence

  • Highly organized and efficient program management abilities, especially for due diligence and sign-to-close processes

  • Great teammate, willing to passionately roll up their sleeves and work cross-functionally to get things done

  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with minimal supervision

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $0 - $0/YR.
