Position Overview
This role is responsible for maintaining & updating Shockwaves business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Plan, conduct, and debrief mock-disaster exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies, updating procedures and plans regularly.
Essential Job Functions
Collaborate with department heads and the executive team to review comprehensive disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets.
Review contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies.
Work with each department to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks that could disrupt business operations and ensure adequate Disaster Recovery plans and procedures are in place.
Perform Business Continuity Program tasks, governance, and oversight, including facilitating business impact analyses, conducting risk assessments, enacting remediation plans, developing and implementing organization-wide business continuity training, and coordinating the annual update and review of business continuity plans, policies, and procedures.
Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
Assess risks to business operations.
Establish, maintain, or test call trees to ensure appropriate communication during disaster.
Interpret government regulations and applicable codes to ensure compliance.
Conduct contingency plan integration and operation.
Review and implement organization-wide business continuity training and disaster recovery, including training materials and manuals.
Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
Monitor the effectiveness of created plans and identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
Create business continuity and disaster recovery budgets.
Qualifications
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.
10+ years of professional experience or combined equivalent educational qualifications and experience in business continuity planning.
Proven track record implementing at least one large-scale, end-to-end business continuity or business resiliency initiative.
Thorough understanding of risk management, business continuity principles, best practices and methodologies.
Excellent strategic, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to think through hypothetical situations and concepts and to identify risks and weaknesses in various business processes.
Ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships to achieve strategic objectives.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and tasks.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments, and work in a complex dynamic environment with deadlines, shifting priorities and frequent interruptions.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $114,000 to 197,800.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
