Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Santa Barbara, California. This role primarily involves tasks related to accounts receivable, processing invoices and payments, and bi-monthly payroll management. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to grow into a HR/Accounting role, assisting with benefits management, though this is not a requirement.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and correct processing of invoices and payments.

• Oversee bi-monthly payroll activities using Paylocity.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure data integrity.

• Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks.

• Perform account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy of financial statements.

• Conduct data entry tasks as required in the role.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation.

• Assist with HR-related tasks and benefits management as necessary.

• Continuously learn and adapt to new accounting practices and regulations.

• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation and accounts receivable (AR)

• Solid experience in billing and invoice processing

• Strong data entry skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Experience in bi-monthly payroll processing

• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
