Description

Day shift (5:30am-2pm) CNC manager/programmer/estimator needed for growing machine shop in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will be $110,000-$150,000 and can be higher if qualified.

As a CNC MACHINING programmer/estimator, you will play a key role in our quoting process, specializing in estimating costs for parts in a machine shop environment

  • Analyze project documents, blueprints, and plans to understand scope and requirements

  • Prepare detailed material and cost estimates for quoting purposes

  • Create accurate cost estimates for labor (machining and assembly), material, outside processing, production lead-time and other required estimates based on customer supplied part blueprints and specifications

  • Monitor status of submitted quotes (won/lost/other), following up where appropriate

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors

  • Manage bids from vendors and contractors

  • Use bid data to prepare detailed and accurate quotes

  • Perform cost analyses of completed jobs and maintain master quote records

  • Source and obtain pricing for materials, plating, hardware, and other job requirements

  • Present prepared estimates to company leaders

  • Primarily office-based with moderate temperature variation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of CNC machining experience, a deep understanding of 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis horizontal CNC milling, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive quotes for our aerospace products

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Flexibility and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Experience with Mastercam software

At least 3 years of precision machining or manufacturing engineering experience of medium to highly complex components, including setup and operation of a diverse range of machine tools

Solid understanding of the types of tooling required for specific applications and generalized machine shop procedures

Complete understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and strong in interpreting part blueprints and customer/industry specifications

Expertise in quoting parts for sectors including 3-axis, 4-axis, materials, and outside processes

Strong analytical and math skills for interpreting and analyzing numerical data

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
