Caterpillar is seeking a Production Change Control Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will support the builds, enhancement, and maintenance of centralized configuration databases; tracks change requests, complete analysis and recommendations for continuous process improvements for change control methodologies supporting the manufacturing location producing Compact Track Loaders (CTL’s) within the Building Construction Product division (BCPD).

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (manufacturing operations, process planning, engineering design, and material planning) to provide timely release and implementation of new models, major product updates and miscellaneous changes. Maintaining integrity and traceability of the configuration throughout its life cycle, by implementing library control, product builds, and process to support setup and maintenance of changes.

  • Establishing priorities and coordinating efforts of the change control team responsible for processing product changes, establishing manufacturing effective dates and scheduling of material to the factory for phase in and phase out.

  • Accountable for development and reporting of disposition of material supporting phase in and out changes.

  • Responding to questions related to configuration management policies and procedures. Performing configuration verification audits.

  • Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning for a team of 3-5 team members.

  • Providing on-going specialized expertise and consultation to several product change control groups regarding releasing practices.

  • Producing Results: Understanding of the criticality of getting things done in spite of current circumstances and the ability to utilize assigned resources and leverage back-channel resources (individuals or teams) to achieve or exceed planned outcomes

  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Manufacturing Process Improvement - Knowledge of manufacturing processes; ability to identify and implement key actions/factors for the process improvement in manufacturing.

  • Change Control Manufacturing - Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.

  • Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or progressively responsible job-related experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the CTL/SSL product

  • Experience with Glovia ERP

  • Experience in PCM (Product Cost Management) and Teamcenter

  • Experience in Purchasing, Material Planning, Logistic Planning, Inventory Record Accuracy, or Manufacturing.

  • High level of attention to detail and strong data manipulation skills within Excel

  • Experience in effective communication both written/oral and teamwork.

  • Leadership ability to influence cross-functional teams for effective planning & implementation.

  • 6 Sigma experience with tools, techniques and/or Lean Manufacturing.

  • The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
