A Carter Lumber Credit Administrator performs various customer service functions for our professional customers locally in one of our service markets while keeping an open line of communication with the Credit Department located at our corporate office. They assist customers and our employees alike in opening accounts, answering questions, and investigating delinquent accounts to ensure that accounts remain in good standing. Their ability to work locally allows for them to be the face of our credit department in their local market.

Requirements:

  • Possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints

  • Effective communication skills, specifically over the phone

  • Ability to work in a team environment, including customers, local employees and the corporate Credit Department

  • Be able to maintain a professional demeanor

  • Previous collections experience, preferably in contractor and commercial credit

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel 

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Assist customers with any questions concerning their credit account

  • Reconcile customer account upon request

  • Provide Invoice & Statement printouts to local customers

  • Process Mobile Payments

  • Research and mitigate customer disputes

  • Properly document accounts after all communications and investigations

Collections:

  • Make outbound calls on past due accounts

  • Determine the best course of action to be taken to collect delinquent balances

  • Work closely with salesman on status of customers account

  • Attend Customer meetings with salesman if requested by salesman

  • Participate in Monthly Market Credit Calls

  • Assist corporate office to advise customer of expiring lien rights

  • Properly document accounts after all communications and investigations​
