Job Description:

The Student Financial Advisor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial support and advising for Academy students while also ensuring student financial eligibility to continue training. They will provide ongoing support and proactive intervention to help with retention and completion of students and assist with managing the student’s financial records from application to graduation.

Essential Functions:

  • Guides and advises students and prospective students concerning the flight training costs and payments. Provides one-on-one advising for students, parents, or others regarding financial issues, payments required, and collections.

  • Provides outreach and exceptional customer service to assist customers with payment related inquiries. Handle customer questions, complaints, and inquiries.

  • Explains finance policies and procedures.

  • Analyzes and audits records to determine payments are made in full.

  • Leads procedures to ensure payments are collected.

  • Maintains information in student database, including pricing for flight training expenses.

  • Reviews student academic progress to confirm payments are made at correct milestones.

  • Ensures privacy of confidential financial records

  • Create and implement debt collection courses of action.

  • Negotiates specific payment plan arrangements with customers.

  • Investigate discrepancies to resolve outstanding customer accounts.

  • Manages customer transactions in electronic systems, including SAP and student record systems.

  • Advanced experience with Excel and other MS office tools.

  • Organized and efficient, proactive problem-solver

  • Excellent communication skills with the internal team and for the customers.

  • Solutions-driven, always seeking ways to turn a negative into a positive.

  • Able to handle and respond to communication on multiple platforms in a timely manner.

  • Proactive with thinking through solutions to situations before they become problems.

  • Takes ownership of handling issues as they arise and feels empowered to problem-solve them by seeking feedback from the appropriate parties as needed.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills typically obtained by a combination of education and experience.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of Finance advisor experience.

  • 2 years post-secondary/associates degree with four (4) years prior Finance advisor experience.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of debt collection legal requirements.

  • Account management experience.

  • Knowledge of creating and reviewing accounts receivable records.
