We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. You will implement productivity, quality and customer service standards and achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and to increase the company’s overall market share.

CED (Consolidated Electrical Distributors) is an industry leader in the electrical wholesale market, with over 700 locations nationwide. This position Consolidated Electrical Distributors Profit Center in Sandy, UT.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods

  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance

  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area

  • Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy

  • Communicate job expectations and coach employees

  • Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems

  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status

  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices

  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments

    Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

  • 40+ hour work week during normal business hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm

  • Overtime can be expected and sometimes required

Minimum Qualifications:

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse supervisor

  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques

  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency

  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data

  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

    Physical Requirements

  • Stand, bend, twist, lift, reach, and walk with frequent repetition

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch with occasional sitting

  • Listen and speak clearly

  • Clear vision, or corrected vision, for near, moderate and distance

  • Lift 50lbs unassisted

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certified

  • Experience driving trucks up to 10,000lbs (non-CDL)

Working Conditions:

Warehouse environment (concrete floors) and outdoor conditions (on asphalt, gravel, or grass) including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures. Some job functions may require extended periods of sitting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Point of contact for team questions, training, and ensuring a smooth day to day workflow

  • Responsible for ensuring the warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision

  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations

  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures

  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements

  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security

  • Ensure there is a paper trail (digital is fine) for all flow of goods in and out of the warehouse

  • Establish relationships with customers, suppliers, and freight companies

  • Plan delivery routes and ensure timeliness and accuracy of drivers

  • Communicate any freight damage immediately to Sales and Operations team
