Overview:

Job Status: Full-time, year-round

Position Level: Entry to Mid-Level

Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

As the General Manager, responsibilities include maintaining an effective overall management of “Quick Service Restaurants” (QSR), ensuring financial performance, product production, and the personnel and training of guest service and service of safe food in accordance with Cedar Point’s and/or Franchise standards of operation and budgetary controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and responsible for managing restaurant’s P & L to optimize manageable profit, control of costs of goods sold (COGS), Labor, and other controllable expenditures to achieve all financial and budgetary goals. Responsible for the development and achievement of the restaurants’ business plan by working with the Director of Resort Food & Beverage.

  • Pass and/or take corrective action for all inspections and audit performed by outside entities such as but not limited to the Ohio Department of Health, Ecosure, Everclean, brand standard audits, and Cedar Point, State and local fire and safety inspections.

  • Staff, train, develop restaurant supervisors and hourly associates through orientations, ongoing feedback, the establishment of performance expectations and by conducting reviews. Ensures all necessary associates are certified in Serv Safe Alcohol for the responsible service of alcohol to the guests.

  • Responsible for effective management of scheduling and ensuring that restaurant is properly staffed to meet guest expectations, sales volumes and to do so within budgetary constraints.

  • Informs the director of all developments arising within the department on a daily basis. Maintains effective communications with all associates, staff members and guests.

  • Responsible for ordering, control and inventory of all necessary products to effectively produce and serve a quality product to all guests in accordance with Cedar Point, State, local and franchise standards of excellence.

  • Ensure the highest level of guest services are present in all units. This is to include a monthly training with front and back of the house personnel.

  • Initiates corrective and improvement actions as needed or upon the direction of the director. Responsible for accurate reports within the area of respnsibility.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

  • 4-6 years related work experience required.

  • 3-5 of supervisory/leadership experience required.

  • Ohio Level 2 Food Protection Certification

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
