Description

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting our clients day-to-day financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate accounting processes, and maintaining compliance with all reporting standards. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive informed decision-making. SaaS industry experience is highly preferred to help us optimize revenue recognition practices and understand the nuances of subscription models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, including preparing and recording journal entries.

  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses.

  • Revenue Recognition: Apply ASC 606 principles and SaaS industry best practices to accurately recognize subscription revenue and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines.

  • Accounts Receivable & Payable: Oversee billing, invoicing, collections, and vendor payments, ensuring timely processing and proper documentation.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and management reports, analyzing trends and highlighting key performance indicators.

  • Compliance & Audit Support: Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting as needed.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance internal controls, and improve efficiency.

    Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience; exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business models strongly preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar). Experience with SaaS metric tracking tools is a plus.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
