Position Description

The Department of Accounting in theMcCoy College of Business (https://www.mccoy.txst.edu/) at Texas State invites applications for an Assistant Professor. The position requires the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, conduct research leading to high-quality peer-reviewed publications, and provide service to students, the department, the profession, and the university.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. with a major or specialization in accounting from a school with AACSB accreditation.

  • The successful candidate must meet the requirements to be Scholarly Academic (SA) under AACSB and Texas Standards (https://www.mccoy.txst.edu/faculty-staff/faculty-resources/policies-procedures/college/cbapps-5-07.html).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant certification and/or significant work experience in at least one teaching area.

  • Evidence of research potential with the ability o publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.

  • Indication that candidate can effectively teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
