Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the safe maintenance, service, and repair of machinery and equipment in the Plant. This role involves performing specific duties regularly and other tasks as assigned. The Maintenance Electrician must record activities and observations regarding the condition of machinery and equipment and assist the Operator when equipment issues arise. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory codes is crucial, as the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for recommending, implementing, and managing safety, quality, and food safety on all product lines.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot complex control systems consisting of PLCs, VFDs, servos, HMIs, instrumentation devices, and communication networks.
Diagnose sources of trouble in operating equipment and perform proper repair or replacement procedures.
Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to isolate and de-energize equipment and systems before working on them.
Identify and eliminate or report unsafe conditions in the Plant and perform all tasks in a safety-conscious manner.
Assist the Operator in the operation of equipment when problems arise.
Upgrade skills and knowledge of Plant systems, equipment, and components as directed or required.
Conduct 5S audits to ensure organized and efficient workspaces.
Fix issues at the root cause rather than applying temporary solutions.

HVAC knowledge
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician

Work Environment
This role is within a chocolate manufacturing company, which operates under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The environment is collaborative, requiring mechanics to work closely with Quality and Production teams. The work involves various physical activities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, lifting, and working in confined spaces or high places. The work area may have uneven surfaces, low clearance areas, and openings in the floor or ground.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of San Leandro, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83449.60 - $96595.20/hr.
This is a unionized position: $100 initiation which is spread across first 10 paychecks, union dues are $49/month.
Benefits are 100% paid for the individual and family - Kaiser for medical.
