A Brief Overview

The Senior Business Analyst gathers and analyzes business data, as well as conceptualizes and helps optimize unit resources. The Senior Business Analyst also uses his/her background, skills, and experience to provide management support, implement and improve management information systems. The Business Reporting Department works in a fast-paced environment, with various projects, Business Units and Executives. Important qualities for the role are organizational skills, quick learners, attention to detail, analytical thinking, teamwork, excel, SQL, Power BI, and power point proficiency, as well as English proficiency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

· Provide reports daily, monthly, quarterly, and analytical support to the following areas:

Deposit & Credit Product Management

First Line Solutions Center

Channels Management

Collection Call Center

Consumer Products

Retail & Small Business Banking

East Caribbean Region

Development and conceptualization reports to support business management including:

Identify trends, deviations and / or opportunities for daily operations.

Interact with the operation for efficient handling of reports. Keep the area manager informed on these trends in the Reports, to alert the operation and thus contribute to the goals of the department are not affected.

Develops analysis, research, and presentations to effectively measure business performance, as required by top management, Business and Support Units.

C· Constantly identify ways to improve reporting and procedures of the unit to gain efficiency, using different databases such as Power BI, Excel, SQL and /or other business tools.

· Develop, test, and write moderate to complex programs or queries.

· Analyzes information to produce forecasts of business, industry, products, and economic conditions for use in making management decisions.

Other Responsibilities:

· Supports the completion of corporate special projects and other initiatives as needed.

· Execute special tasks assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Competencies:

· Analytical & Critical Thinking: outstanding problem identification and solving skills with excellent critical thinking capabilities.

· Business acumen: knowledgeable of the banking industry key business drivers, while being able to connect with stakeholders to gain a full understanding of the problems in need of solutions.

· Interpersonal skills: strong communication skills, both written and verbal - English and Spanish, while operating as a team player at all moments

· Excel & Power BI: strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications, be able to develop formulas to help with analysis.

· Programming and database knowledge

· Expert in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Crystal Report, SAP Business Object, Assist, APPRO system, Access, SSIS, Power BI and SQL

· Quality: Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.

Minimum Requirements

· A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics or Business.

· Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in related fields.

· Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Power BI and Power Point are required.

· SQL Management is a plus but not required.

· Financial institution experience, with strong knowledge of retail banking risks and processes, as well as direct exposure to bank regulatory requirements is a plus.
