Western Digital Technologies SSD Hardware Designer (Masters Summer 2025 Grad) in San Jose, California
- Based on product and system requirements, generate configuration and circuit design for various blocks including power system, host interface controller, NAND controller and etc. This requires close interaction with both internal cross functional teams as well as external vendors
- Represent hardware team in program meetings
- Perform SPICE simulation and bench evaluation to verify design prior to design release
- Perform component testing, collaborate with quality engineer to qualify new components
- Create schematic in Cadence Orcad
- Provide layout guidelines
- Work closely with layout team and SIPI team to optimize implementation.
- Generate design documents to internal and external teams as reference and user manual
- Perform functional checkout on new hardware
- Collaborate with validation team and other teams to resolve hardware issues
- Close interaction with ASIC team, System Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Validation, Component Engineering, and etc.
- Create and update BOM in Agile to enable material team and manufacturing
