Description

We are looking for a skilled Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Oakland, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling various legal matters within the firm, with a focus on litigation and personal injury cases. This role will require a proactive approach, strong case management skills, and the ability to handle a variety of legal software.

Responsibilities:

• Handle various litigation cases in a law firm setting

• Gain experience in Personal Injury (PI) cases; take and defend depositions; trial experience is a PLUS

• Write and manage demand letters, engage in motion work, and conduct research

• Act as a self-starter, initiating and managing your own cases

• Utilize case management software such as 3M and LexisNexis for efficient case handling

• Engage in Civil Litigation and Claim Administration

• Handle complaints and documentation related to cases

• Work on personal injury litigation and law, including depositions and deposition summaries

• Show proficiency with legal software and management systems for effective case handling

• Brief team members on case progress and updates regularly.

Requirements

• Must have a legal degree from an accredited law school

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state

• Ability to prepare and present briefings

• Knowledge of complaint handling and documentation procedures

• Experience in personal injury plaintiffs, personal injury litigation, and personal injury law

• Must have experience conducting depositions and preparing deposition summaries

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High level of attention to detail, organization, and time management

• Ability to maintain client confidentiality

• Familiarity with legal research methods

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
