FUEL GENERAL MANAGER AT PRIMEFLIGHT

The Airport Fuel General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fueling operations at the airport, ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective fuel management for airlines, ground handlers, and other aviation-related customers. This role involves managing day-to-day operations, safety compliance, financial performance, inventory management, staff supervision, hiring, training, and customer relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all airports fueling operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

  • Supervise the fueling process for aircraft, ground vehicles, and related services

  • Monitor GSE fuel supply levels, usage patterns, and optimize fuel delivery to prevent shortages or excess stock

  • Ensure timely and accurate fueling services, including refueling aircraft, managing fuel trucks, and coordinating with ground handling teams

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and industry standards for fuel handling, storage, and transportation

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to aviation fuel handling and environmental safety

  • Implement regular safety training for all fueling personnel and conduct safety audits to identify risks

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the fueling team, ensuring high levels of performance, safety, and customer service

  • Coordinate with HR regarding the recruitment and hiring process for fueling operations staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill sets

  • Develop and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing employee development, ensuring team members are properly trained in safety, fueling procedures, and customer service standards

  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and create development plans for staff to improve skills and grow within the organization

  • Monitor fuel quality and ensure proper storage to maintain the integrity of fuel products.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to track operational performance.

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with airlines, ground handlers, and other customers to ensure a high level of service

  • Address customer concerns or issues regarding fueling services in a timely and professional manner

  • Negotiate fuel supply agreements and ensure that customers receive competitive pricing and quality service

  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of the fuel operations

  • Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and profitability

  • Prepare and submit reports on fuel consumption, expenditures, and operational performance to senior management

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase operational efficiency

  • Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements in fuel management and safety

  • Attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Eligible to work in the United States

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fuel operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in an airport or aviation-related environment.

  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices

  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means

  • Pass a background check and drug screen

  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Travel requirements with percentage
