As a Director of Product Management on the Observability team at Splunk, you will work in an entrepreneurial, cross-functional and collaborative environment, working with engineering, design, marketing and sales counterparts to define and drive key functionalities within our Observability products.
About the Role
We are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead our observability solutions for Application Performance Management. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy, innovation roadmap, and growth of some of our most critical product areas, managing a team of product managers and working closely with the engineering, design, and GTM teams.
The ideal candidate has a track record of building and delivering data-driven SaaS products and has deep domain expertise in observability solutions, DevOps, and/or cloud infrastructure.
This position will be based in the United States and will need to work with our distributed team across the Seattle, San Jose, India, Poland, and RTP offices in the US.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the vision, strategy, and end-to-end roadmap for a portfolio of products, partnering closely with our engineering, design, and marketing teams on execution.
Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with product marketing, support and the sales team to drive growth and adoption of our Observability products
Build and lead a high-performing product management team, fostering growth and career development.
Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition and technologies are evolving, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product strategy
Act as spokesperson and champion for our products, clearly articulating vision, strategy, and product functionality to technical teams, executives, and customers.
Basic Qualifications
12+ years of product management experience
Experience managing a team of product managers and a portfolio of products
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MBA a plus)
Demonstrated success in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of complex, high-impact enterprise products.
Domain expertise in Observability, DevOps, Kubernetes, and / or related fields
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead, collaborate and influence via persuasion, patience and energy at all levels of the organization.
Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills. Ability to identify patterns and synthesize disparate data into a coherent whole
Experience with developing software, understanding engineering tradeoffs, and an intuition for the needs of the developers and operators who use our products
A passion for customer journey, user experience, usability and a knack for simplicity; willing and able to dive deep into technical requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Background in enterprise SaaS; bonus if those were observability or analytics related
Experience leading Observability products, including those involving application performance management.
Expertise in Kubernetes and Cloud technologies; Otel familiarity is a plus
Participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle, experience with Agile software methodologies

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $212,400.00 - 292,050.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $191,160.00 - 262,845.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $172,000.00 - 236,500.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
