Uber Technical Program Manager II in San Francisco, California

About the Role

This new role will focus on improving reliability and network performance through structured physical network builds. They will anticipate long term needs and plan out requirements in the Uber Network Infrastructure resulting from business strategy changes, ongoing network demands and creating both the program. They are also expected to coordinate and help the team execute on intermediate, discrete steps required to meet Uber's growing need for increased stability and efficiencies from both a resource management and cost structure.

What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Strategic and Tactical Management

  • Work with Engineering, TPM and Business units to create program end-states and major milestones along the path to the desired goal.

  • Align multiple teams priorities with project deliverables in support of larger company objectives on both short timelines (<4>

  • Jira alignment to OKRs.

  • Representing work in Jira for visibility, status, communication. Project Management / execution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years delivering complex cross-functional projects.

  • Strong organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.

  • Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned technical decisions objectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the challenges and nomenclature specific to physical data center build outs, expansions and decommissioning; working with both internal and external stakeholders, partners and vendors, and delivering complex and time-constrained projects on budget and on schedule.

  • Understanding of Network device lifecycle and of backbone infrastructure.

  • Minimum of 5 years delivering complex cross-functional projects with network builds or adjacent IT efforts; corporate offices, call centers, data centers, HPC builds.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
