What will you do?

  • Accelerate the AWS Worldwide Public Sector business initiatives through software delivery

  • Bring your creativity every day to solve complex problems for our global business operations; anticipate customer needs

  • Dive deep into the latest software development tools and frameworks, hone your already strong software development skills.

  • Continual improvement of the systems as they will need to scale and continue to meet the demands of a rapidly growing, dynamic business.

  • Improving cycle times, maintaining system integrity, developing integration/efficiencies within the system and automation of manual processes.

  • Take advantage of really strong Amazon internal training opportunities including instructor led courses, expert talks from experts, and informal on the job training.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build internal applications and services across different business domains in the AWS Worldwide Public Sector

  • Work with stakeholders, product managers, and technical program managers to deliver software capabilities

  • Focus on operational excellence while delivering new features to existing products and services

  • Architect, design, and build re-usable assets for new functionality across the portfolio

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

San Francisco, CA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development

  • Developed and supported solutions on AWS, including serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
