Robert Half Senior Tax Associate in San Francisco, California

Description

We are in search of a Senior Tax Associate to join our team in San Francisco, California. The Senior Tax Associate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with corporate tax laws, conducting audits, and preparing ad hoc reports. This role will also require proficiency in using various software tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and SAP S/4HANA.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex income tax returns, including consolidated and multi-state filings

  • Handle communications with taxing authorities in tax controversy matters

  • Build and maintain relationships with client personnel responsible for tax issues

  • Manage competing priorities and communicate effectively to ensure timely client service

Engagement Management:

  • Manage expectations and keep engagements progressing through effective communication

  • Provide technical assistance and motivation to engagement staff

  • Promote teamwork and innovation to enhance client service

  • Mentor and review the work of staff tax associates

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent field

  • 3+ years of experience in tax and public accounting, covering both business and individual returns

  • Experience with accrual and cash methods of accounting

Desired Qualifications:

  • CPA license

  • Broad tax return experience across multiple industries, including high-net-worth clients

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting best practices, laws, standards, and regulations (state/national)

Technology Skills:

  • Experience with CCH or other tax processing systems (preferred)

  • Proficient in QuickBooks/QBO

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Adobe Acrobat
