About the Role

DoorDash is looking for an experienced Corporate Safety and Security professional to join our Global Safety and Security team. You will work with Global Safety and Security leadership to directly support the safety and security of our San Francisco, CA corporate office. We are looking for high-output production to include; development, implementation, and execution of Global Safety and Security's strategic goals. You will play an important part in the growth and expansion of DoorDash operations and will work with other Global Safety and Security team members, Workplace Experience, Human Resources, Real Estate, and other key business partners.

  • Directly influence business development and guide safe and secure operations.

  • Help develop and drive the implementation of workplace safety and security programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (OSHA, local/state/federal laws).

  • Use your experience building, implementing, and driving execution of safety & security programs, from physical security measures to workplace violence prevention and emergency management.

  • Lead and supervise assigned Security Specialists and security contractors, ensuring high performance, proper training, and adherence to security protocols.

  • Oversee emergency response training and lead the site Emergency Response Team.

  • Help build comprehensive safety & security programs from the ground up.

  • Produce assessments for essential business interests and operations, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing mitigation strategies.

  • Assist with threat assessment, site-specific security risk analysis, and safety audits.

  • Guide situational understanding of safety and security risks for the business.

  • Develop operating procedures and program documentation.

  • Oversee badge issuance, access control, and guest management at the site level, ensuring robust physical security measures and systems are in place.

  • Partner with internal customers and teams to reduce loss and increase profitability.

  • Coordinate and lead security operations for on and off-site company events.

  • Establish and lead working groups to understand security strategies, business roadmaps, and advise on mitigating risks and recommended actions.

  • Have 3+ years of direct safety and security experience.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with additional certifications in safety, security, or emergency management being a plus.

  • Are familiar with workplace safety and security strategies and have a deep understanding of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, emergency response systems, etc.) and the integration of technology in enhancing security measures.

  • Have experience building, implementing, and measuring safety and security risks.

  • Have experience leading project development, contribution and completion.

  • Can understand and participate in tactics, operations, and strategy; excel at execution in service of a larger mission objective.

  • Are driven with a strong bias for action and have demonstrated experience setting and achieving aggressive performance objectives related to safety and security goals.

  • Have experience handling discrete information and working with confidential data.

  • Have exceptional written and oral communication skills, to include the ability to de-escalate tense or hostile situations.

  • Have experience using technology and data resources to analyze loss and identify security trends, helping to inform decision-making and continuous improvement in security practices.

  • Take ownership of your work and performance, demonstrating a high level of execution and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Have experience with loss mitigation strategies.

Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.

$75,500 — $111,000 USD
