To help us power a strong community, we are looking for a Communications Manager for LinkedIn’s digital advertising business with experience and interest in telling stories that demonstrate the value we deliver for our customers.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is a creative storyteller and excels at crafting customer-focused narratives, specifically tied to the future of advertising, to support our digital advertising business. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners across product and marketing to bring to life the stories that matter most to marketing practitioners and leaders who are using LinkedIn’s solutions every day to promote and drive growth for their organizations. You will be responsible for driving our always-on communications aimed at marketing practitioners, including leading our data storytelling, to land a steady cadence of earned media. Strong media relations, writing, project management and organizational skills are required with deep experience in driving earned and owned media results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage media relationships with core B2B ads trade reporters

  • Lead proactive and reactive data storytelling for our digital advertising business

  • Lead proactive storytelling aimed at the day-to-day marketing practitioner

  • Manage ongoing cadence of media conversations with thought leadership, product and data stories tied to our digital advertising business always in the pipeline

  • Drive strategic and tactical communications plans corresponding with the launch of research reports

  • Strategically pitch stories and gain earned coverage around latest research, data and ongoing product updates

  • Lead reviews and approvals for any inbound speaking requests originating from our digital advertising business that support thought leadership, data or products

  • Support thought leadership narratives for digital advertising business leaders

  • Partner with the Global Communications Team to support the execution of product and partner launches

  • Remain current on ad tech industry trends to keep business leaders informed about topics driving conversations with external audiences, i.e. competitive thought leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify and develop perspectives on industry trends and hot topics

  • Build relationships with your LinkedIn Global Communications Team counterparts to identify opportunities to weave B2B thought leadership and data into broader stories

  • Write and/or edit content, including, but not limited to articles, LinkedIn platform posts, bylines, etc.

  • Continuously consider how your priorities are supporting the sales organization as they work to open new doors and build and maintain existing relationships

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience in external communications – with a focus on media relations

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience working on communications for advertising, ad tech, or media

  • Strong results in dynamic, high-growth, fast paced environment with proven track record of delivering on projects with tight deadlines and cross-functional dependencies

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to critically think about how to position a story and weave in multiple messages to maximize opportunities

  • Ideal candidate has experience managing issues that may impact reputation

  • Experience developing scripts and video content for executive voices

  • Organizational skills and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once

  • Strong understanding of external communications and implementation process

  • Strong media relations experience

  • Must have very strong project management and decision-making skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels

  • Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $94,000 - $147,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
