Sutter Health Lactation Consultant in San Francisco, California

Position Overview:
Provides breastfeeding assistance and childbirth education programs to all applicable patients. Facilitates lactation education, resources and support to patients and healthcare providers including nurses, mid-wives, physicians, educators, and social service personnel ensuring services provided are consistent with organizational policies, applicable research and current standards. Delivers individual and classroom lactation education as needed. Evaluates specific lactation problems by telephone and develops a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated.
Job Description :
EDUCATION
RN, state Licensure, preferred.
Other: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) - Required.
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - Required
RN-Registered Nurse of California, preferred
EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN
Experience in clinical maternal/child field as typically acquired in three years, two years of which would include working with breastfeeding clients, required.
Outpatient experience strongly preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Excellent maternal-infant assessment skills.
Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to gather data to complete reports on a timely basis.
Written and verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.

Pay Range is $56.60 to $73.57 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
