U.S. Mint Inventory Management Specialist in San Francisco, California

Summary This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - San Francisco - Budget and Accounting Division. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for initial planning; determination of requirements; government acquisition; storage; accountability; and consumption, retention, or disposal of production materials needed to support the United States Mint. Responsibilities As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will: Independently ensure that raw material and packaging components are available as required for Coining and Numismatic production needs. Utilize inventory tracking systems and control records to respond to user inquiries regarding material availability. Coordinate with others in the organizations to clarifying discrepancies in information submitted by serviced organizations; and resolve automated system problems causing erroneous transaction records, which affect financial statements. Obtain time and motion studies and data to properly determine coinage program product cost in coordination with accounting and headquarters manufacturing teams, to ensure costs are accurately captured. Obtain and maintain a certification as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to support the inventory management needs of the Mint organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. A one-year probationary period may be required. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: -Utilization of an asset tracking system and enterprise resource planning software; AND -Performing physical inventories for an organization; AND -Documentary control of the receipt and or issuance of stock property items in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures. OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of the education and experience. For example: the completion of 50% requirements for J.D. and 6 months of specialized experience.
