Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring that overall dining services operations meet required operating

standards and financial goals. Identifies client/guest needs and interacts in a positive, proactive manner.

Works on a consistent basis with personnel to generate new business/ideas and driving overall positive

guest and user experience. Responsible for ensuring that customer complaints are appropriately handled

and rectified. Oversees hospitality functions and ensure the guest experience is to the highest-leveled

Bon Appetit expectation.. Oversees the maintenance of adequate equipment, product, and decoration

inventories. Plans menus, layout, decor, and booking entertainment (when appropriate) for events, café

and marketing promotions. Must maintain exemplary service, communication, quality, and support for all

aspects of the operation per clients’ needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

? Interacts with client representatives,and various leadership roles in organization, and all

associates in the operations in a positive solution-driven maner.

? Develops and implements all service standards and standards of operation for the operation..

? Positive, proactive interaction with guests and clients.

? Acts as liaison between Compass and client representatives.

? Monitors daily operations of the catering department and ensures the programing is updated

and seasonal quarterly.

? Must conduct and organize monthly business reviews and assist with quarterly client

presentations as required.

? Responsible for the coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline of associates in the

department.

? Conducts timely and appropriate performance appraisals and salary reviews for all associates

and managers as assigned.

? Develop, implement, and build a quarterly marketing plan for the catering department for

portfolio in coordination with Compass and Client parameters.

? Ensures that department employees are trained in and follow standard procedures for food

safety and sanitations and maintaining a safe work environment.

? Prepare and submit annual budget for the department, making logical and prudent business

decisions for the department.

? Recruit and stabilize a strong team.

? Interact with the culinary leadership and Guests catering and restaurants in planning menus

to ensure quality and taste maintains Compass standards.

? Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between

management and team members

? Establishes and maintains accurate tracking systems for financial and information

? Disseminates information to all concerned department heads and staff members through

preparation and distribution of detailed function sheets at regularly scheduled intervals.

? Utilizes Compass OMS and manual systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly

reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll time keeping, etc.

? Accurately maintains and adjust payroll

? Responsible for cash log, counting, deposits, and P-card purchase maintenance and

submission.

? Must ensure the operation is up to date and compliant with all local licenses, ordinates, and

mandates.

? Ensures all financial information is recorded, saved per policy, and accurately input daily and

billed according to policy.

? Effective Records retention and training programs.

Requirements

Food Safety/Sanitation

? Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper

serving temperatures - follows HACCP standards- In-house or drop off culinary service

solutions.

? Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area

? Handles foods items appropriately during preparation

? Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed

production standards

? Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned

? Cleans equipment, as assigned and in a timely fashion

? Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments

? Ensures that Regular audits are conducted by the unit and receives successful marks on all

inspections and audits.

? Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment

Customer Service

? Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner is all customer and

employee interactions

? Interacts with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction

? Greets customers courteously

? Serves customers quickly, Does not allow back-ups or snags in serving lines

? Serves customer food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, in a courteous

demeanor

? Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and explains same to

customers accurately

? Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors

? Interact with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented

manner

? Consistently exhibits the ability to keep up with required work hours and does so calmly,

accurately, and efficiently

? Checks to ensure that all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards

? Serve food neatly and attractively per standard and client requests

Duties

Physical Safety

?Ensures corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed

?Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment

?Cleans up spills in the servey, dining area, his/her own work area immediately.

Corporate Standards

? Completes shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with

department standards

? Informs chef, Client, and/or supervisor, in a timely manner when supplies are low

? Follows and observes all company policies and procedures

? Follows company standards for attendance and punctuality

? Maintains professional appearance at all times, clean and well groomed in accordance with

company and Client Standards

? Develops a positive working relationship with fellow workers and customers and avoids

conflict

? Attends C.H.A.T. and all other training sessions

? Assist other functions as needed and/or assigned by supervisor

? Conduct daily staff meeting to maintain safety, D& I communication

? Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members by speaking and

? Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week

? Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates

? Must be flexible with schedule and has sole responsibility of the unit and will be required to be onsite

as needed by the client.

? Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains

? Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs)

throughout shift

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and taste or

smell. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and

reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and

occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Skills

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as discounts and interest. Ability to apply concepts such

as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general food service documents, memos. Ability to read software

operations manuals.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 15 years related experience and/or

training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only

limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,

diagram, or schedule form.
