Renewable Properties Audit and Reporting Associate in San Francisco, California

Renewable Properties is seeking to bring on an experienced and talented Audit & Reporting Associate to effectively collaborate and support the Company's accounting, reporting, and auditing functions. The candidate will provide support across a wide range of accounting and reporting processes and be integral in the Company's corporate finance function. S/he will be responsible for preparing quarterly financial statements and supporting the execution and facilitation of external audits. A successful candidate will have experience building and managing consolidated financials and reporting processes, experience in managing audit requests for numerous reporting entities, and a background in creating accounting schedules / roll-forwards to assist in year-end audits.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in developing Renewable Properties' success during this exciting time of rapid growth in a changing and impactful industry. This is a full-time role and ideally based on the West Coast.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing quarterly financial reporting for multiple entities: Project-level reporting, Entity-level reporting and Consolidated-level reporting.

  • Support the annual audit process.

  • Prepare and manage numerous roll-forwards.

  • Assist in the consolidation of numerous entities.

  • Build process, structure, and work products to support management and reporting of operating assets – including preparing operating performance summary reports for financing parties.

  • Identify, own, and communicate solutions to complex solar project accounting issues.

  • Compile financial statements/info and work with operations/finance.

  • Create and manage a tracking system for various project level financial obligations.

  • Provide audit support as required by external audit and tax teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience with complex audits and short timelines is a plus.

  • 4+ years of experience with a wide range of accounting topics.

  • Strong attention to detail, pride in work product, communication and organization skills.

  • Problem-solver driven towards task completion.

  • Experience in preparing financial reporting and analysis.

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Driven, resourceful and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment. Curiosity and passion for driving the renewable industry forward.

  • Cross-functional accounting background.

  • Experience with the consolidation process of numerous entities.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Sheets.

  • Experience within the solar industry a plus.
