As the Associate Director of Group Sales & Events , you will report directly to the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Events, and become an integral part of a dynamic, passionate team that consistently earns top rankings in the industry for exceptional service and meeting planner satisfaction.
Your role will directly contribute to this continued success by focusing on positive sales growth, achieving your sales quota, and servicing group events. You’ll also play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing the next generation of hospitality professionals by assisting with hiring, training, and coaching group sales and event planning managers.
This position oversees and works closely with the Event Planning team to ensure the successful planning, coordination, and execution of all group events. You will collaborate with the Event Planning team and other hotel operations teams to guarantee the flawless execution of events, including room setups, banquets, and audiovisual needs, ensuring that every detail aligns with client expectations and upholds the hotel’s high standards.

Following is the list of position expectations:
Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach to sales and be a dynamic sales professional who will positively impact our business and clearly understand the Grand Hyatt brand
Maximize total hotel revenue, including room and event revenue
Maximize segmentation mix and develop business from existing Hyatt channels while creating new business development opportunities
Passion for direct sales in the group segment developing new business, solicitation & prospecting, and acquisition of key accounts will be implemental for this role
Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal and external clients, and other market and industry sources
Plan, organize, and host familiarization, client events, team roadshows, and entertainment
80% Onsite Role: Enjoy the benefits of working in a vibrant hotel environment, collaborating with a dedicated team to deliver outstanding service
The salary range for this position is $97,800 to $151,400 per year.
This is the pay for this position that Grand Hyatt at SFO reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors such as experience and education.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience within a 4-5 star hotel sales environment
A self-starter who is highly driven, solutions-orientated, persistent, and adaptable to change
Excellent communication and leadership skills, relationship management, and networking abilities
A proven track record in achieving targets and yield management
A collaborative and motivating leader of others with a strategic and analytical focus
Ability to recognize trends and shift strategy to maximize results
Excellent emotional intelligence
Has a passion for direct sales and willingness to jump in to assist in developing relationships and territories
