We are seeking a full-time Assistant Property Manager for our apartment building for senior citizens located in San Francisco, CA. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who knows their way around the general office environment and is willing to assist the Property Manager according to Silvercrest and HUD guidelines. Our residents are important to us; and our mission is to provide clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable housing for them; and to do so in an environment that is sensitive and responsive. Bilingual English/Chinese preferred.

Position Title: Assistant Property Manager

Location: San Francisco Silvercrest, San Francisco, CA.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

This position requires on-site residency. This means that you will be expected to live on-site where the job is located. Unless otherwise agreed upon, failure to reside on-site will result in separation from the company. This is a serious requirement, and compliance is expected.

As part of your job offer, and for the convenience of the Salvation Army, you will be provided with a 1-bedroom apartment on-site. The fair market value of the unit is counted as a business expense as part of your job requirements. The amount will not be subjected to Federal, State, Local Tax, or Social Security taxes. However, it is counted in your favor towards the calculation of the Salvation Army's Retirement Plan benefit, when you are eligible to receive retirement. We will need to conduct a background check on all Co-Users of the apartment unit over the age of 18 years of age. This apartment is conditional upon your active employment with San Francisco Silvercrest. This will also be noted in the On-Site Living Agreement and House Rules you will be required to sign before moving into the apartment. Please note the Silvercrest is a non-smoking building, therefore smoking in the apartment is prohibited. Also, one small pet is allowed (adult weight limit not to exceed 20lbs). . The move in date will be determined by the Property Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Follows the procedures and tasks of building management as outlined in Silvercrest Operating Procedures Manual and Salvation Army policies.

  • Respond to potential applicants for answers regarding general eligibility questions, applicant procedure & process.

  • Inspect vacated units, and ensure units are cleaned, repaired, and painted as necessary for move-in.

  • Submit invoices from vendors for approval.

  • Assures that rents and other charges are calculated correctly and collected in a timely manner.

  • Assist with the annual schedule of work in the areas of property inspection and preventive maintenance, tenant certification and recertification, vendor selection and small contracting, unit turn-over and re-leasing, building and grounds safety, property appearance, staff training, and evaluation.

  • Handle tenant relations and assist with responding to requests for repairs and maintenance.

  • Communicate and coordinates regularly with local Salvation Army officers and personnel.

  • Interacts with local agencies and service providers in the community.

  • Represents The Salvation Army in a positive and professional manner by maintaining positive relationships with Silvercrest residents, vendors and Salvation Army staff.

  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested by Manager.

Qualifications

Experience

Required

  • 2 years: 2+ years experience in property management preferred

Preferred

  • Effective organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and accurately both verbally and in writing.

  • Understanding of HUD policies and procedures

  • Understanding of Fair Housing laws and regulations
