Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing administrative support services. Typical work assignments will include: Greeting and directing all visitors, screening telephone calls, taking messages and ensure integrity of secured premises. Receive and disseminate mail and media (facsimiles, hand-delivered mail, packages, supplies, etc.) Makes purchases of supplies, equipment, and services using government credit cards, contract services and other payment methods. Maintains contracts for routine services. Monitors the status of purchase orders. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Each grade has 10 step rates and GS employees are usually hired at step one of the applicable GS grade level at which the applicant qualified. The salary range for a GS-6 in San Francisco, California is $54,914.00 - $71,390.00 (step 1 through step 10). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-6: To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is defined as processing mail; tracking postage expenses and supplies; constructing and managing files and data logs; inputting information into databases or spreadsheets; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness; providing customer service (providing information, answering phones, receiving and relaying messages); processing supply requests; purchasing office supplies. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) Note: In order to be considered "qualified" for this position, your specialized experience must be described in your resume. If your specialized experience is not clearly stated in your resume, you may not be considered for this position. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. Education Additional Information Telework: Situational telework is subject to supervisory approval and may be permitted on an occasional, non-routine basis, from an appropriate off-site location and may be authorized to the extent that it is consistent with the mission of the Office. Situational telework is currently limited to 16 hours in a pay period and no more than 192 hours in a calendar year. Routine telework is not available. Payment of relocation expenses will not be authorized. Recruitment incentives may be paid to new or reappointed (after a 90 day break in service) federal employees as defined by 5 C.F.R. 575.103.
