Apple's Audio and Media Technologies Group (AMT) is looking for a creative and dedicated engineer to join our Streaming Media team. This team delivers the technology that powers the media viewing and listening experiences across our entire ecosystem for both 1st party (TV+, Apple Music, Sports) and 3rd party content streaming services (Disney+, Netflix, HBO). We are responsible for implementing software services around linear audiovisual media that includes video-on-demand and live streaming of multimedia content. Apple’s Streaming Media team is looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team in San Diego, California. You will take part in designing groundbreaking features and experiences for future iOS releases and contribute to the advancement of video streaming technologies.

Key Qualifications

  • Unix OS fundamentals

  • Prior software development experience for iOS, macOS, Unix or Linux

  • Strong coding skills in C/C++ or Objective C

  • Debugging and troubleshooting software issues

  • Using system profiling, network analysis tools

Description

In this role, you will pursue incoming bug reports in the area of Streaming Media from Apple customers, Apple’s developer community and internal teams. You’ll work as part of a talented and diverse team to ensure quick resolution of bugs, perform debug analysis and develop advanced tools for debugging software and/or hardware. Given the team’s focus on streaming technologies, knowledge of streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH, RTSP, RTP, etc., and media codecs, formats, transport protocols, represents a strong plus. Programming experience in Python and Swift is preferred but it is not a requirement for the role.

Education & Experience

BS or MS in CS/CE or equivalent

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $110,219.20 and $198,100.00 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
