Robert Half Staff Accountant in San Diego, California

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our non-profit team located in San Diego, California, 92121, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting-related activities, such as account reconciliation, journal entries, fixed asset management, cash flows, and preparing technical reports for various government agencies. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including account reconciliation, journal entries, and fixed asset management.

• Participate in budgeting activities, including budget creation, monitoring, and providing synthesized information to management.

• Perform reconciliation of cash and balance sheets.

• Prepare technical reports for various government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels.

• Utilize technical accounting system(s) to record accounting transactions, create ad hoc financial reports, and monitor General Ledger activity.

• Assist with annual financial interim and final audit activities.

• Undertake other projects as assigned.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Account Reconciliation. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations

• Experienced in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Able to efficiently handle Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in using NetSuite and QuickBooks accounting software

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Proven skills in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is desirable

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
