Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Sr Principal Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our diverse team within with Systems Engineering. The position is in San Diego, CA.
You will be responsible for developing new and/or existing analysis of the RQ-4 System Missions and the tool suite needed to analyze the critical data.
What you get to do!
Lead teams in the technical execution systems analysis and simulation tasks/projects.
Develop software and analytical tools to model behavior of systems
Develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
Model operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.
Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering “V”. Ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements; develop operationally relevant mission scenarios; assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments.
Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Master's Degree and 6 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, OR a Ph.D. and 4 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering
Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret within reasonable period of time as determined by business needs.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in at least one of the following areas: Research, Analysis, and Creating Assessments of Foreign Threats to US Military Operations Modeling and Simulation of Radars, Missiles, Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), Air and/or Space platforms Analysis, Lethality, Vulnerability, Engagement, Infrared (IR)/Electro-Optical (EO)/Acoustic Modeling/Analysis Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), Electronic Countermeasures Red and/or Blue CONOPs and TTPs
Operational military background or experience in any of the following: Fighter or Bomber Pilot, Electronic Warfare Officer/Weapons Systems Officer, Air Battle Manager, Intelligence Officer, Joint Duty Officer
Experience with system of systems modeling tools (AFSIM).
Proficiency in coding/scripting with experience using either Matlab, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
Familiarity with AGILE, MBSE, and/or system architecture.
Experience with version control tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.).
Salary Range: $137,400 - $206,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
