About the Role:

As a CBRE Sr Metrology Technician, you will be responsible for the calibration and adjustment of complex equipment in accordance with customer requirements.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

This role requires 25% to 50% travel including local/regional travel.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform advanced calibrations and adjustments for numerous calibration devices within the temperature, humidity, pressure, physical dimensional, torque, force, and electrical disciplines.

  • Maintain proper documentation in the metrology database. This includes calibration certificates, equipment history forms, timesheets, and automated calibration software.

  • Communicate with customers about the progress of the testing, repair, and services. Resolve issues as necessary.

  • Generate certificates of calibration or out-of-tolerance reports as required. Present certificates in the correct format to meet customer requirements.

  • Bring staff to customer locations and coach on how to calibrate equipment on-site.

  • Enforce maintaining laboratory ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

  • Identify and use appropriate measurement procedures. Suggest ways to make procedures more efficient.

  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

  • Impact the quality of own work.

  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Previous work experience in instrumentation and control, installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or related equivalent.

  • Intermediate skills with Desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite and Online Help.

  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and Laboratory Accreditation.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $90,000 and the maximum salary for the position is $100,000. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
