Sigma Defense is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. This role is critical for the engineering and integration of domain and enterprise services software for the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) system. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in PowerShell development, alongside a solid background in supporting Department of Defense (DoD) projects.

As a Software Engineer, you will be tasked with developing robust and efficient software solutions, enhancing system architectures, and resolving complex technical issues. Your expertise will contribute to the stability, supportability, and sustainability of IT systems critical to national defense. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals, leveraging your technical skills to provide innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities (not all-inclusive)

  • Provide expert level knowledge in systems engineering and information technology.

  • Develop and implement software and hardware solutions to address complex problems.

  • Investigate and resolve issues that span multiple applications and technologies.

  • Revise system designs and architectures to enhance efficiency, stability, and supportability.

  • Collaborate with technical personnel across multiple organizations to deliver high-quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in PowerShell development.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in engineering solutions for Microsoft Server OS, Microsoft Domain Controllers/GPOs, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft SQL, WSUS, RHEL, and Microsoft SCOM.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience supporting the engineering of IT systems for a DoD or Government Agency.

  • Experience with the engineering and integration of CANES, ADNS, ISNS, CENTRIXS, SCI Networks, SUBLAN, and/or COMPOSE.

  • Security+ CE Operating Environment certification.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance or higher.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science. Alternatively, a combination of equivalent education/training and experience may be considered (10 years of total experience with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent).

Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 annually.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Define implementation details for system architecture in conjunction with other team members.

  • Resolve day-to-day implementation challenges with the team.

  • Map and document system requirements in conjunction with the customer and team.

  • Develop software solutions to run in environment to tie software and systems together to function as designed by team and customer.
