Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
Serve as a laser and opticalengineer for systems ranging from early concepts to productprototypes to initial production units
Use optical instrumentation and metrology to enable data-driven decisions
Contribute to the design, build, and test of novel laser cavities and laser-based systems
Develop detailed alignment procedures and create robotic scripts to automate alignment of laser systems
Hands-on experience in the development, prototyping, testing of complex Software/Optical/Mechanical systems
Use Zemax to design and tolerance laser and optical systems
Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
Conduct risk-reduction and process development experiments
Maintain and work to a 2-week task schedule
Conduct design analysis and calculations using Zemax, Python, MATLAB, or Excel
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Engineering student; some progress towards engineering degree
Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

The pay scale for this position is $21.43/hour - $30/hour. The pay scale information is a general guideline only.
