Our client, a leading organization in San Diego, is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented, and innovative workplace. They are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to oversee daily HR operations and contribute to strategic people initiatives aimed at enhancing employee satisfaction and organizational performance.

The Senior HR Generalist is a key member of the HR team who ensures compliance with HR policies, drives strategic HR initiatives, and serves as a trusted partner to management and staff alike. This role demands deep knowledge of HR principles, talent management expertise, and leadership abilities to execute effective HR strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Support: Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives, helping to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.

  • Employee Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for employee relations concerns, providing guidance to both employees and managers. Investigate and resolve conflicts effectively to preserve a positive workplace culture.

  • Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruiting strategies to attract top-tier talent. Work with the talent acquisition team to enhance recruitment efforts and ensure an excellent candidate experience.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations, updating policies as needed to meet legal and organizational requirements.

  • Performance Management: Guide managers in performance evaluations, goal setting, and performance improvement plans, fostering a culture of continuous feedback.

  • Benefits and Compensation: Assist with benefits programs, including managing open enrollment, answering employee questions, and ensuring competitive compensation structures.

  • HR Analytics: Generate and analyze HR metrics to provide actionable insights and inform decision-making.

  • Training and Development: Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to identify and implement training programs that meet employee and organizational needs.

    Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of HR experience with at least 2 years in a senior-level or strategic HR position.

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment law. Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) such as Workday or ADP is required.

  • Certifications: PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP (SHRM Certified Professional) certification preferred.

  • Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Proficiency with HR analytics tools to identify trends and improve HR initiatives.

  • Expertise in emerging technologies such as HRIS program management (e.g., Workday, ADP, HRIP).
