Job Description:

L3Harris has an immediate opening for a versatile scientist, system/Hardware engineer to support the design and manufacturing of Tracking, Telemetry, and Command products for space-based applications and Intel products. As a system/hardware engineering within the Chief Engineering organization, you will be supporting various engineering teams in support of bids and proposals for advanced satellite & intel communication links including TT&C and Payload products with digital telemetry, and signal processing technology. As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading product development and planning functions, Internal Research, & Design (IR&D) development, and bids and proposals for Satellite and Intel systems. This role requires the application of the principles and techniques of Electrical Engineering, with detailed simulation and mathematical analysis. You will work with engineering teams to analyze and provide cost effective solutions, determine feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products. Interface with customers, suppliers, and other technical and support personnel. Coordinating and leading engineering team in support for proposals, including technical solution, estimates, and schedules. Essential Functions:

  • Lead architecting new product and support business development

  • Lead customer technical engagements

  • Technical lead for bids and proposal support, basis of estimate, ROMs/FFP

  • Keep datasheet current by evaluating product discriminators and competitors

  • Support technical risk identification and mitigation strategies

  • Drive technical product strategy & roadmaps & technology insertion

  • Author white paper technical write up for major pursuits

  • Guide and support IR&D technical execution (focus on major pursuits)

  • Drive mentorship and training within the engineering organization

  • Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.

  • Drive interface with internal organizations

  • Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes

  • Analyze problems and drive down to the root cause of problems quickly.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. GraduateDegree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimmum of 16 years of prior related experience.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant Hardware design experience.

  • Experience with radio architecture design and experience for supporting customer deliverable products

  • Experience with digital modulation, demodulation, FEC, interface and modem level design

  • Experience in Microsoft Suite applications and RF/system simulation tools

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Design and system level experience for Satellite and Intel application.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $147,000 - $273,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
